LOCATION
The site in Fossano offers various services relating to the treatment and transport of waste. The site specialises in both hazardous and non-hazardous substances and therefore offers a wide range of acceptance options. With several warehouses and bunkers as well as a large tank farm, there are a variety of storage options.
Rosso S.r.l. was founded in 1995 and has been based on a site of over 17,000 m² in Fossano (Piedmont) since 2010. Thanks to its favourable location in the north of Italy, important industrial areas such as Turin and Milan are just as easily accessible as neighbouring France and Switzerland. Since the beginning of 2024, Rosso S.r.l. has been part of REMONDIS Italia and thus part of the REMONDIS Group, one of the leading companies in the waste management sector, which opens up even more opportunities for utilising the waste volumes received.

At Rosso S.r.l., safety comes first. Special precautions must be taken when working with hazardous and non-hazardous waste. For this reason, all incoming waste is thoroughly analysed in our own laboratory upon delivery. These results are used to determine which treatment or disposal method is most suitable for the substance in question.
Energy generation in Fossano: on our company premises, we use the roof area of our warehouse to generate energy. The large solar system with an output of 95 kWh produces green electricity, which we use for our daily work. We feed surplus electricity into the public grid.
Correct storage is a key issue when dealing with hazardous and non-hazardous waste. This is the only way to ensure that no substances are released into the environment and could pollute it. After being analysed in the laboratory, the waste is therefore transported to the specially designed storage facility. The site in Fossano offers a large number of storage options that are fully customised to the various requirements.
Tank storage for liquid waste
Accepted waste is analysed in the laboratory as standard in Fossano. We then temporarily store the waste in our tank farm, which has a total of 26 tanks. Thanks to the large variety of tanks, many different liquid substances with varying properties can be stored separately.
Warehouses for solids and pastes
At the site in Fossano, four modern warehouses enable the safe storage of solid and pasty waste. They are separated according to waste type, equipped with exhaust air systems, and offer space for a large number of containers. Waste can also be shredded on site and further processed into substitute fuels.
Outdoor storage and collection containers
For all other waste, collection containers and special areas for hazardous and non-hazardous waste are available outside. Everything that can be stored outside is stored there. There is also a transshipment centre with an excavator for solid materials.
"The location in Fossano enables us to work closely with REMONDIS sites in neighbouring countries. This opens up many opportunities, even beyond the site’s own infrastructure."

Rosso S.r.l. has been involved in the Consorzio Nazionale Oli Usati (CONOU) since the company was founded. The consortium organises the free collection and subsequent processing of waste oil throughout Italy in the interests of the circular economy. For this purpose, used oil is collected by partners from companies and private individuals. It can then be given a new lease of life in special treatment plants. This process produces a secondary resource from the hazardous waste used oil – fully in line with the circular economy.
For example, around 65 kg of regenerated oil, 22 kg of diesel fuel and around 8 kg of purified water can be obtained from 100 kg of waste oil. Instead of the initial 100 kg of hazardous waste, only 5 kg of process waste remains, which is treated further. Within Italy, these recycled oils make up around a quarter of the lubricating oils used.
